Labrys Symbol associated with female and matriarchal power. Its root is the word labus, or lips in Latin. Double blade ax used by women of former matriarchal societies, not only used to fight, but also to work. In Greek mythology, it represents strength and self-sufficiency. More recently, associated with the Black Metal musical movement and precursors of neo-paganism, especially in Greece or in the Nordic Countries. Symbol of search for feminine truth, it is frequently used as a sign of identity and solidarity among the feminist movement.
