The Ouroboros (or Uroboros) is a symbol depicting a snake or dragon eating its own tail. The first known representations are found in the Ancient Egypt and the Ancient Greece. Afterwards it is also found associated with the Alchemist principle of the raw material unity. It represents the cyclic nature of things.
